Xolani Xoli Thabethe is an all round musician who's refused to let the status quo tie him down to just one musical title. With over a decade in the music industry, the globally acclaimed musician has soared into different ventures in music and today, he's not just a Keyboard Player but a:
- Music Director
- Music Producer
- Music Composer
- Recording Artist
- Recording Engineer
- Production Manager
His love for music started at a young age and the first instruments he played (at age 6) were drums. He studied music at Johannesburg Central College and got his first break in the industry in 2003 when he joined Bishop Benjamin Dube's choir as a backing vocalist. Two years later, he became the Musical Director for the Bishop's "EYaweh Khumama" album and many more albums that followed.
In the Gospel music genre Xoli has produced/directed music for artists such as Jabu Hlongwane, Mthunzi Namba, Lungi Ndala and many more. In the Jazz/Afro Pop music genre he has worked with artists such as the legendary Caiphus Semenya & Mam Letta Mbuli, Thandiswa Mazwai, Mafikizolo and many more.
He has also done TV projects such as Chante Moore Live in SA, Gospel Classics (S1) and the SAFTA nominated TV drama: Bone Of My Bones.
Xoli continues to build his name and legacy through his recording studio, Bett Media. He says music is more than just a career but a calling and daily, he continues to live that truth and inspire his generation.
